The Yoni, is the carrier, the nourisher, the protective Mother that activates the process of creation.

Central to the Yoni, is the seed, the cosmic, dormant Consciousness that merges with the dynamic, creative Consciousness, activating creation and life. The Linga and the Yoni are symbolic representations of the male and female genitals that are also interpreted as Shiva-Shakti, Purusha-Prakriti, Male-Female, Spirit-Matter, eternally in union, flowing as a sacred essence through the animate and inanimate. Neither can exist without the other – a wisdom that the Indian Tradition realised long back and expressed it through the anthropomorphic forms of Ardhanarishwara and the abstract forms of Tantric art.

Through their union, a perfect balance of energies, springs out creation!
